She almost ran as she let out a long sigh of relief. “Caitlin, is that you?” his voice was surprisingly calm but when she gave no response a rush of air was heard over the phone before a soft knock was heard at her door. Only when the ringing stopped and a husky voice spoke over the line that she finally realised what she had done. Her fingers frantically ran over the numbers on their own accord. She pressed down and a bright light shone onto her face. Her hands reached over to her bedside table, fumbling for anything resembling her mobile phone. Her breaths were heavy as she desperately tried to pull oxygen into her air-deprived lungs. Her sweat-covered body shook with fear as her nightmares resurfaced in her memory.
